Trong chuỗi chương trình hoàn toàn mới với tên gọi BEYOND the SOUND, Heritage Space kết hợp cùng DomDom mang tới cho những người yêu nhạc chàng nghệ sĩ tài ba Will Guthrie, chỉ một đêm duy nhất tại Hà Nội trong chuyến lưu diễn của anh.

Will Guthrie là một tay trống/ người chơi nhạc cụ gõ sống tại Pháp. Anh làm việc với nhiều thể loại âm nhạc khác: biểu diễn trực tiếp, ngẫu hứng và studio bằng cách kết hợp trống, bộ gõ, vật liệu, phế liệu, khuếch đại và điện tử.

Trong khi học nhạc jazz và nhạc ngẫu hứng tại Trường Nghệ thuật Victoria ở Melbourne, cùng với Ren Walters, anh đã bắt đầu loạt chương trình hoà nhạc hàng tuần 'Improvised Tuesday', bây giờ được gọi là Câu lạc bộ Make It Up và là nơi biểu diễn lâu nhất của Úc dành cho nhạc thử thử nghiệm và ngẫu hứng. Tại Nantes, Pháp, anh là thành viên của CABLE#, tổ chức các buổi hòa nhạc thường xuyên và lễ hội hàng năm.

Will Guthrie biểu diễn solo và tham gia vào nhiều dự án khác nhau như THE AMES ROOM & THE SOMMES ENSEMBLE. Âm nhạc của anh đã được phát hành trên các nhãn hiệu như Black Truffle, Editions Mego, Ipecac, Erstwhile, Clean Feed, Gaffer Records, 23five, iDEAL và và hãng Antboy Music của riêng mình.

‘BEYOND the SOUND’ là chuỗi trình diễn nhạc thể nghiệm nhằm giới thiệu những sáng tác và trình diễn tiền phong nhất của những nhà soạn nhạc đương đại Việt Nam và Quốc tế. Chương trình được tuyển chọn và tổ chức bởi sự kết hợp giữa Heritage Space và Trung tâm Nhạc thể nghiệm DomDom Hanoi. 

❖ Về nhà tổ chức:
Heritage Space là một tổ hợp bao gồm gallery, thư viện, phòng hòa nhạc, phòng làm việc nhóm, phòng lưu trú và không gian ngoài trời với khả năng tổ chức các triển lãm và trưng bày nghệ thuật, âm nhạc và biểu diễn, các chương trình giáo dục và trao đổi, nghệ sỹ lưu trú và nhiều hoạt động khác. Được điều hành bởi nhóm các giám tuyển, nhà nghiên cứu nghệ thuật và nghệ sỹ, Heritage Space có tham vọng trở thành một điểm hội tụ cho các cá nhân/nhóm / tổ chức đến từ nhiều lĩnh vực sáng tạo trong và ngoài nước, với mục tiêu lâu dài nhằm hỗ trợ và phát triển nền công nghiệp sáng tạo ở Việt Nam.

DomDom: Hoạt động như một cổng kết nối và trao đổi dành cho Âm nhạc Thể nghiệm và Nghệ thuật, DomDom được mở vào năm 2012 với vai trò một trung tâm đa ngành độc lập đầu tiên ở Việt Nam chú trọng vào âm nhạc Thể nghiệm, và khả năng kết hợp với các hình thái nghệ thuật khác. Điều hành bởi nhà soạn nhạc/ nhạc sỹ Kim Ngọc và chồng là Xuân Sơn (Sơn X), DomDom thể hiện một vai trò bản lề trong âm nhạc và nghệ thuật Việt Nam ở thời điểm hiện nay.

In a totally new series of experimental music called 'BEYOND the SOUND', Heritage Space coordinates with DomDom to introduce music lovers a talented artist: Will Guthrie, just one and only night in Hanoi.

Will Guthrie is an Australian drummer / percussionist living in France. He works in many different settings of music: live performance, improvisation and studio composition using various combinations of drums, percussion, objects, junk, amplification and electronics..
He plays solo and in various projects such as THE AMES ROOM & THE SOMMES ENSEMBLE. His music has been released on labels such as Black Truffle, Editions Mego, Ipecac, Erstwhile, Clean Feed, Gaffer Records, 23five, iDEAL and his own label Antboy Music.
While studying jazz and improvised music(s) at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, alongside Ren Walters he started the weekly concert series 'Improvised Tuesdays', now known as the Make It Up Club and is Australia's longest running performance space dedicated to experimental and improvised musics. In Nantes, France he is part of the collective CABLE# which also organizes regular concerts and an annual festival. He also runs the experimental improvised CD label and mail-order service; ANTBOY MUSIC.
He plays solo using different combinations of drums, percussion, amplification and electronics, in minimalist/maximalist free jazz trio THE AMES ROOM (with Jean-Luc Guionnet & Clayton Thomas), as well as the improvised/composed ensemble THE SOMMES ENSEMBLE (with Pierre-Antoine Badaroux, Julien Desperez & Maxime Petit).

‘BEYOND the SOUND’ is a series of concerts of experimental music aiming to reveal the latest works of Vietnamese and foreign composer/ musician. The program is curated and organized by Heritage Space and Dom Dom.

Heritage Space is a combination of a gallery, library, concert hall, co-working space, boarding room and outdoor space with the possibility of organizing exhibitions, concerts and performances, education and exchange, artists residency programs, and many other activities. Run by a team of curators, art researchers, and artists, Heritage Space is aspiring to become an intersection of individuals/groups/ organizations from a wide range of domestic and international creative fields, with a long-term goal to support and develop the creative industry in Vietnam.

DOMDOM: Being a Hub for Experimental Music and Art, Domdom has been created in 2012 as the first independent interdisciplinary center dedicated to Vietnamese experimental music and its collaboration with other art forms. Running by artist Kim Ngoc and the husband Xuan Son (Son X), Domdom has been playing essential role in Vietnamese arts & music in this moment.
