** Gustavo Carvalho là một nghệ sĩ piano người Brazil sinh ra ở Belo Horizonte năm 1982, anh được nhận định là một trong những tài năng triển vọng nhất của thời đại này bởi Tạp chí Pháp “Le Monde de la Musique”.

Năm mười hai tuổi, anh đã chơi thuần thục các tác phẩm của Shostakovich với dàn nhạc Sinfônica de Minas Gerais tại Palácio das Artes de Belo Horizonte. Từ đó anh xuất hiện thường xuyên trước công chúng ở Brazil và ở Châu Âu.

Gustavo Carvalho đã học với Magdala Costa tại Belo Horizonte, Oleg Maisenberg tại Đại học Âm nhạc và Nghệ thuật Sân khấu ở Vienna và Elisso Virsaladze tại Nhạc viện Tchaikovsky ở Moscow.

Anh đã trình diễn với tư cách là một nghệ sĩ độc tấu và nghệ sĩ nhạc thính phòng ở Mỹ, Châu Âu, Châu Á và Châu Phi, đáng chú ý là với dàn nhạc nhạc Sinfônica Brasileira, dàn nhạc Camerata Salzburg and "New Russia", bên cạnh những nghệ sĩ dưới trướng của các nhạc trưởng Ira Levin, Howard Griffiths, Evgeny Bushkov, Yuri Bashmet, v.v.

Là một nghệ sĩ nhạc thính phòng, anh đã cộng tác với các nghệ sĩ piano Nelson Freire và Elisso Virsaladze, giọng nữ cao Eliane Coelho, nghệ sĩ violin Geza Hosszu-Legocky và nghệ sĩ violin Daniel Rowland.

Mối quan tâm của anh đối với âm nhạc đương đại và các hình thức thể hiện nghệ thuật khác đã dẫn đến nhiều sự hợp tác giữa anh và các nhà soạn nhạc Sérgio Rodrigo và Samir Odeh-Tamimi, diễn viên Charles Gonzáles, nghệ sĩ thị giác François Andes và Mac Adams, cũng như với nhiếp ảnh gia Antanas Sutkus.

Gustavo Carvalho là người sáng lập và là giám đốc nghệ thuật của Festival Artes Vertentes ở Tiradentes (Brazil) và từ năm 2012 đã là giám đốc nghệ thuật của Liên hoan ZEITKUNST tại Berlin. Anh hiện đang lưu trú tại thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, trong khuôn khổ chương trình lưu trú sáng tác Villa Saigon của Viện Pháp tại Việt Nam.

Buổi hòa nhạc sẽ đi sâu vào các tác phẩm viết về hai người tình của Clara Schumann là Robert Schumann và Johannes Brahms.

** Mentioned as one of the most promising talents of our time by the French Magazine “Le Monde de la Musique”, Luiz Gustavo Carvalho is a Brazilian pianist Born in Belo Horizonte in 1982.

At the age of twelve, he played Shostakovich's concertos with the Orquestra Sinfônica de Minas Gerais at the Palácio das Artes de Belo Horizonte. His appearances in public then multiplied in Brazil and in Europe.

Gustavo Carvalho studied with Magdala Costa at Belo Horizonte, Oleg Maisenberg at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna and Elisso Virsaladze at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.

He has played as a soloist and chamber musician in America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, notably with the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira, the Camerata Salzburg and "New Russia" Orchestra, among others under the direction of conductors such as Ira Levin, Howard Griffiths, Evgeny Bushkov, Yuri Bashmet, etc.

As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with pianists Nelson Freire and Elisso Virsaladze, soprano Eliane Coelho, violinists Geza Hosszu-Legocky and violinist Daniel Rowland.

His interest in contemporary music and other forms of artistic expression have led to numerous collaborations with composers Sérgio Rodrigo and Samir Odeh-Tamimi, actor Charles Gonzáles, visual artist François Andes and Mac Adams, as well as with the photographer Antanas Sutkus.

Luiz Gustavo Carvalho is the founder and artistic director of Festival Artes Vertentes in Tiradentes (Brazil) and since 2012 has been the artistic director of the ZEITKUNST Festival in Berlin. He is currently in residency in Ho Chi Minh City, as a laureate of the Villa Saigon program of the French Institute of Vietnam.

This concert will dig into the musical repertoire of Clara Schumann’s two lovers: Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms.
