JUNE SPEAKERS

 

  • Alexandre Dardy - CEO, Lazada Vietnam.

 

Alexendre Dardy has a Master Degree at Paris  University and Master Degree of Business Faculty, INSEAD University.

He began his career at McKinsey & Company in Paris where he is the key member of the European High Tech Practice.  Over 9 years working in this firm, Alexendre specialized in Telecom and Retail Industry. He said that “The time working in McKinsey & Company was really useful for me because it helped me equip all skills to solve the problem by identifying the core and helped me overcome challenges in a reasonable manner”

After leaving McKinsey & Company, Alexandre worked for Lazada Vietnam as a Commercial Manager and his main mission is the marketplace development.

In August 2014, he was assigned to be CEO of Lazada Vietnam. He became the leader to monitor all Lazada Vietnam‘s activities.

Depend on the Vietnamese shopping behaviors, he has provided many new strategies that provide better service solutions; making Lazada be one of the biggest E-commerce website  in Vietnam.

 

Topic: THE POTENTIAL FOR E-COMMERCE IN VIETNAM

 

Have you ever shopped online?  Do you know how many people in Vietnam are shopping online?  Do you believe in a massive E-commerce market for Vietnam in the near future?

E-commerce has evolved significantly in recent years and become an established shopping mode in countries like the US, EU and even in developing countries like China, Thailand and Indonesia. While Vietnam has the potential for a huge E-commerce ecosystem with a young population, rapid rate of Internet and smart phone penetration, there are still many challenges to overcome.  The culture of traditional shopping in Vietnam, the trust for online shopping and  he logistic infrastructure has not yet evolved to provide a great customer experience.

In this presentation, Mr. Alexandre Dardy, CEO, Lazada Vietnam, the number one e-commerce website in Vietnam, will share his thoughts about the growing interest from E-commerce ecosystem stakeholders (logistic partners, offline retailers, telecom operators and banks) and what it takes to make online shopping a habit for Vietnamese customers in a near future.

  • Arup Bansal - Managing Director, MEC

 

Arup has 2 graduate degrees and a MBA. He has more than 12 years of experience and has spent 

majority of his career in India working with FMCG and telecom companies. 

 

He started his career in Vietnam by leaving client side to be on the dark (agency) side. He has 

been in Vietnam for almost 3 years (July 2012) and is now working as Managing Director of 

MEC, a Group M company, one of the leading media agencies in Vietnam. He has implemented 

various successful campaigns and is working towards making his media agency, MEC, the most 

preferred business partner of clients.
