Sự kiện này là một diễn ngôn hình ảnh và âm thanh xung quanh sự tái sinh vô tận của các con hẻm ở Quận 4. Với việc kết hợp âm thanh của Thierry Bernard Gotteland và hình ảnh của Andrew Stiff, bộ đôi sử dụng vòng lặp như một phương tiện để thể hiện sự thay đổi và tái sinh như một sự kiện có chu kỳ . Cả hai nghệ sĩ đều là giảng viên Khoa Thiết kế thử nghiệm tại Đại học RMIT Việt Nam và là nhà nghiên cứu trong dự án tìm hiểu về Hẻm, một dự án dưới sự chỉ đạo từ Trường.

* Andrew Stiff hiện là Giảng viên khoa Thiết kế tại Đại học RMIT Việt Nam, chuyên về thiết kế thử nghiệm và hình ảnh động. Anh học về Hội họa tại Trường Nghệ thuật Chelsea (hiện là một phần của Đại học Nghệ thuật Luân Đôn) và lấy bằng thạc sĩ về Hệ thống Thông tin và Công nghệ tại Đại học Liverpool. Sau khi làm việc với D-Fuse, tập thể thiết kế kỹ thuật số thử nghiệm, anh bắt đầu sự nghiệp học thuật của mình bằng việc lấy bằng thạc sĩ Digital Arts tại Trường Cao đẳng Nghệ thuật Camberwell, thuộc Đại học Nghệ thuật London.

Anh hiện đang thực tập Tiến sĩ tại Đại học RMIT, cho Trường Nghiên cứu sau Đại học bộ môn Kiến trúc và Thiết kế. Nghiên cứu có tiêu đề “Những không gian riêng tư: Một kho lưu trữ quan sát sáng tạo”. Những thực hành thiết kế của anh khám phá quá trình thu thập, lưu trữ và (tái) sản xuất dữ liệu vật lý và phù du của thành thị. Tận dụng và khám phá khả năng của các công cụ kỹ thuật số, các tác phẩm của Andrew thường sử dụng ảnh động ở dạng thử nghiệm. Anh đã trình chiếu các tác phẩm của mình ra quốc tế từ Mỹ, Hồng Kông, Nhật Bản và ở Đông Nam Á, cũng như một số địa điểm ở châu Âu.

* Thierry Bernard-Gotteland hiện là Giảng viên khoa Thiết kế tại Đại học RMIT Việt Nam. Anh chuyên về thiết kế thử nghiệm và sản xuất âm thanh. Thierry đã theo học tại Trường Nghệ thuật Superior của Grenoble, Pháp và sau đó là Fresnoy, Xưởng nghệ thuật đương đại quốc gia Pháp, nơi anh ghi danh vào một chương trình cư trú sau đại học được thực hiện bởi các nghệ sĩ nổi tiếng như Gary Hill, Atau Tanaka & Antoni Muntadas. Làm việc với Đại học RMIT Việt Nam trong 10 năm qua, anh hiện đang phát triển nghiên cứu nghệ thuật của mình thông qua kỳ thực tập Tiến sĩ từ xa với Đại Học RMIT Melbourne, nơi anh thực sự khám phá lăng kính của bối cảnh / nội dung về thực nghiệm điều khiển âm thanh trong nghệ thuật sắp đặt và biểu diễn. Thierry cũng đang làm việc với Galerie Quỳnh từ năm 2011 với chương trình solo đầu tiên của mình mang tên: Sự tuân thủ tự nhiên của hình dạng cụ thể”.

This event is an audio visual discourse around the endless regeneration of the hems in District 4. Using audio by Thierry Bernard Gotteland and Visuals by Andrew Stiff, this event uses the loop as a means of expressing change and regeneration as a cyclical event in the hems. Both artists are lecturers of experimental design at RMIT Vietnam and researchers in the hems research project, conducted with the University.

* Andrew Stiff is a Lecturer at RMIT University Viet Nam, teaching in design. He specialises in experimental design and moving image. He studied painting at Chelsea School of Art [now part of the University of the Arts London], and ‘Information Systems and technology’ for his masters degree at University of Liverpool. After working with the experimental digital design collective D-Fuse, he started his academic career running a masters degree in Digital Art, at Camberwell college of Arts, University of the Arts London. He is currently undertaking a practice based PhD at RMIT University, in the School of Graduate Research: Architecture and Design. The research is titled: ‘Intimate Spaces: An archive of creative observation’. Andrew Stiff’s design practice investigates the process of collecting, archiving and (re) producing physical and ephemeral data from the urban realm. Using and exploring the possibilities of digital tools, his practice employs moving image media, in experimental forms. His work has been shown internationally from the US, Hong Kong, Japan and in South East Asia, as well as a number of venues in Europe.

* Thierry Bernard-Gotteland is a Lecturer at RMIT University Viet Nam, teaching in design. He specializes in experimental design and audio production. He studied at the Superior Art School of Grenoble in France and went up to Le Fresnoy, French National Studio of Contemporary Arts enrolled in a post-graduate residency program conducted by acclaimed artists like Gary Hill, Atau Tanaka & Antoni Muntadas. Working with RMIT University Vietnam for the past 10 years, he is currently developing his artistic research through an offshore practice-based PhD with RMIT Melbourne where he is actually investigating through the lens of context/content about audio driven experience in installation and performance art. Thierry is also working with Galerie Quynh since 2011 with his first solo show entitled: A Physical Obedience of a Certain Geometry, Nihil Sublime.
