* Salon Saigon và Viện Pháp tại Việt Nam hân hạnh giới thiệu “Cinema for the ears” - một chương trình trình diễn trực tiếp kết hợp âm nhạc electro-acoustic của nhà soạn nhạc và nhạc sĩ Juan Aramburu và những trích đoạn từ bộ phim tài liệu "Và công việc là" của nhà làm phim Tường Vi Nguyễn Long.

Bộ phim tài liệu "Và công việc là” của Tường Vi Nguyễn Long là một bộ phim về cuộc cách mạng kỹ thuật số trong thế giới việc làm. Để thực hiện bộ phim này, cô đã thâm nhập vào môi trường làm việc của một doanh nghiệp Việt Nam với hơn 200 nhân viên cùng nhau quản lý doanh nghiệp nhờ những công cụ truyền thông mới. Tháng 9 Năm 2019, Juan Aramburu tham gia cùng Tường Vi trong chuyến lưu trú sáng tác tại Sài Gòn để viết nhạc cho bộ phim bằng cách khám phá bản sắc âm thanh của Việt Nam. Anh thu âm ở những nơi khác nhau trong thành phố, ghi âm giọng nói và nhạc cụ truyền thống, sau đó sáng tạo nhạc phim từ những chất liệu này.

Trình diễn của hai nghệ sĩ tại Salon Saigon lần này là một cuộc đối thoại mở rộng giữa âm nhạc và hình ảnh, vượt ra khỏi giới hạn của bộ phim mà họ đang làm đồng thời phản ánh và đặt ra những câu hỏi về một xã hội siêu kết nối. Khán giả sẽ được xem những trích đoạn phim của Tường Vi và trình diễn âm nhạc electro-acoustic được sáng tác trực tiếp từ những thiết bị âm nhạc của Juan, bên cạnh những chia sẻ về hành trình sáng tạo của hai nghệ sĩ.

** Về các nghệ sĩ:

Tường Vi Nguyễn Long là một nghệ sĩ người Pháp gốc Việt, tập trung vào dựng phim và làm phim tài liệu. Trong các bộ phim của mình, cô thích đi xuyên suốt một ý tưởng bằng cách tạo ra sự kết hợp giữa hình ảnh và âm thanh để nuôi dưỡng suy nghĩ của khán giả.

Juan Aramburu là môt nhà soạn nhạc và nhạc sĩ đến từ Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sau khi học guitar, violin và tango ở Argentina, Juan Aramburu tốt nghiệp ở Paris, Pháp với bằng Thạc sĩ về Sáng tác và nghệ thuật âm thanh tại Khoa Nghiên cứu Âm nhạc - Học viện Nghe nhìn Quốc Gia INA-GRM, sau đó được đào tạo tại Học viện Nghiên cứu và Sáng tác Âm nhạc IRCAM. Trong các tác phẩm của mình, Juan sử dụng các nguồn âm thanh lạ lẫm, để gây ngạc nhiên và làm xáo trộn thính giác của người nghe.

Anh đã sáng lập và hợp tác trong một số dự án đáng chú ý như Big Bang Experiment, một sắp đặt tương tác với âm thanh, múa, video, vẽ, điêu khắc, ảnh và trình diễn, được giới thiệu tại Festival Péril Jeune, Confluences, Paris (2014) và Nuit Blanche, Cloister of the Billettes - Le Marais, Paris (2014); bộ ba âm nhạc thử nghiệm Huma2mach, Point Ephémère ở Paris (2017); dự án kết hợp thơ và nhạc electro-acoustic với nhà thơ Delphine Auby (2018). Hiện tại, anh đang sáng tác nhạc cho bộ phim tài liệu "Và công việc là" của Tường Vi Nguyễn Long.

*Salon Saigon and the French Institute in Vietnam are pleased to present ‘Cinema for the ears’ – a live performance combining electro-acoustic music by composer and musician Juan Aramburu and excerpts from the documentary "And there the work was" by film-maker Tuong Vi Nguyen Long.

The documentary “And there the work was” by Tuong Vi Nguyen Long is a film about the digital revolution in the working environment. To make this film, she penetrated in a Vietnamese company with more than 200 employees managing the business together through new communication tools. In September 2019, Juan Aramburu is joining Tuong Vi in her residency in Saigon to write music for the film by exploring the sound identity of Vietnam. The work includes recording sounds in different parts of the city, voice recordings and traditional instruments, then creating soundtracks from these materials.

The performance of two artists at Salon Saigon this time is a dialogue between music, sounds and images, expanding beyond the confines of the film in which they are working together, reflects and questions about a hyper-connected society. The audience will be able to watch Tuong Vi's film excerpts and electro-acoustic music composed by Juan using his music equipments, in addition to the artists’ sharing their creative journey.

** About artists:

Tuong Vi Nguyen Long is a Vietnamese-French artist whose practice focuses on editing films and making documentaries. In her works, she likes to go through an idea by creating a combination of images and sounds to nurture the audience’s minds.

Juan Aramburu is a composer and musician from Buenos Aires, Argentina.  After studying guitar, violin and tango in Argentina, Juan Aramburu graduated in Paris with a Master's degree in Acousmatic Composition and Sound Arts at INA-GRM (National Audiovisual Institute, Musical Research Group), then trained at IRCAM (Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music). In his works, Juan uses strange sound sources, to surprise and disturb the listeners’ hearing.

He founded and collaborated in some remarkable projects such as Big Bang Experiment, interactive installation of sound, dance, video, draw, sculpture, photo and performance, presented at Festival Péril Jeune, Confluences, Paris (2014) and Nuit Blanche, Cloister of the Billettes - Le Marais, Paris (2014); experimental music trio Huma2mach, Point Ephémère in Paris (2017); electro-acoustic poetry project with poet Delphine Auby (2018). Now a days, he's making the music for the documentary ‘Et le travail fut’ (And there the work was) by Tuong Vi Nguyen Long.

Salon de Saïgon et l'Institut Français du Vietnam ont le plaisir de vous présenter « Cinéma pour les oreilles », une performance live combinant la musique électroacoustique du compositeur et musicien Juan Aramburu et des extraits du documentaire « Et le travail fut » de la réalisatrice Tuong Vi Nguyen Long.

Le documentaire « Et le travail fut » de Tuong Vi Nguyen Long traite de la révolution numérique dans le monde du travail. Pour réaliser ce film, elle s’est immergée dans une entreprise vietnamienne avec plus de 200 employés, qui gèrent ensemble leur entreprise grâce aux nouveaux outils de communication. En septembre 2019, Juan Aramburu a rejoint Tuong Vi lors de sa résidence à la Villa Saïgon pour composer la musique de ce film en explorant l'identité sonore du Vietnam. Cette musique est créée à partir de sons enregistrés dans différentes parties de la ville, d’enregistrements de voix et d'instruments traditionnels. Des bandes sonores sont ensuite créées à partir de ces sons récoltés.

La performance de ces deux artistes à Salon Saïgon sera un dialogue entre musique, sons et images, dépassant les limites du film sur lequel ils travaillent ensemble, afin de réfléchir et questionner cette société hyper-connectée. Le public pourra visionner des extraits du film de Tuong Vi tout en écoutant la musique électroacoustique composée par Juan, et ainsi partager le processus créatif des artistes.

Sur les artistes :

Tuong Vi Nguyen Long est une artiste franco-vietnamien dont la pratique se concentre sur le montage de films et la réalisation de documentaires. Dans ses films, elle aime suivre le fil d’une idée en faisant des associations visuelle et sonores pour alimenter les réflexions des spectateurs.

Juan Aramburu est un compositeur et musicien originaire de Buenos Aires en Argentine.  Après avoir étudié la guitare, le violon et le tango en Argentine, il obtient un master en composition acousmatique et arts sonores à l’INA-GRM, suivi d’une formation à l’IRCAM à Paris. Dans ses compositions, il travaille à partir de sources acoustiques insolites, cherchant à surprendre et à déranger l’ouïe des auditeurs.

Juan a fondé et collaboré sur des projets importants tels que :

- « Big Bang Experiment », installation interactive mêlant le son, la danse, la vidéo, le dessin, la sculpture, la photographie et la performance, présentée au Festival Péril Jeune à l’Espace Confluences de Paris (2014) et lors de Nuit Blanche au Cloître des Billettes à Paris (2014)

- Huma2mach, trio électro-instrumental présenté au Point Ephémère à Paris (2017)

- un projet de musique électroacoustique sur la poésie avec la poète Delphine Auby (2018).
