E-Factor Season 8 2022

I/ ABOUT E-FACTOR:

E-FACTOR (EF) is an English competition held annually by English Zone - the English Club in Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. Our competition aims to foster an English environment for English lovers to raise their voices and showcase their talents. Many talented students have participated in our competition over the last 7 seasons. And this year, E-Factor 8 will imposingly return for its Eighth Season.

II/ ABOUT E-FACTOR SEASON 8:

- E-Factor Season 8 will consist of 3 Rounds:

 Round 1: Online elimination round (Individual work)

 Semi-final round: Presentation (Teamwork)

Each team will be given time (2 weeks) to research information for the given topic and prepare a PowerPoint (online).

Each team will have 10-15 minutes to give judges a presentation (based on the Public Forum Debate).

After finishing the presentations, the selected team will be asked questions about their presentation in 20 minutes at the maximum (the opposing team will ask questions about selected presentations).

Finally, judges will ask each team some questions about their presentations. 

(In order to support participants in preparing for round 2, training sessions will take place, the purpose is to teach and give you a clearer view of Public Forum Debate & Debating skills). 

  Final Round: Debate

Each team will be given time (2 weeks) to research information for the given topic and prepare for Showdown Day (offline).

There are 4 rounds based on Public Forum Debate. Besides, 2 teams will be divided into 2 opposite aspects to debate a topic given by EZ.

Each team has 2 minutes of preparation time. When all the teams finish their production, judges, based on the marking criteria provided by EZ, will give an evaluation score and assessment to each team. The winning team will be the one that has the highest final result.

In the Semi-final Round, attendees will behold presentations and Q&A parts from 4 teams in terms of 2 intriguing topics.

FINAL ROUND: DEBATE

On Showdown Day, attendees will behold a dynamic debate from 2 teams in terms of an engaging topic.
