Era of Bot: Applications in Southeast Asia

Chatting has become so common habit of human to communicate. There are many mobile applications  such as Facebook Messenger, WeChat, LINE, Slack, Skype or Viber which cover billions of people all over the world. That platform plays a crucial role in the development of chatbot. By the end of 2016, there are about 33.000 chatbot created in Facebook Messenger alone. Those bots will have a strong impact on how people work and interact with each other in the near future.

However, developing bots is not easy at all. Many bots bring frustration more than satisfaction. The great core technology might not be enough to bring a technologically-cool solution into marketable product. Therefore, innovation has not been fully exploded.

The event “Era of Bot: Applications in Southeast Asia” organised by Cinnamon AI Labs and Geeky Weekend will bring together 4 guest speakers of 4 artificial intelligence companies in Asia. They will share their insights about how to develop a bot product; which approaches company should use to create marketable products; how bots are changing the technology landscape in Asia.

Mr. Yang

Spencer Yang is the CEO of KeyReply and have talked to over 250 chatbots so far. Before starting the company with his co-founders, Spencer headed the Optimizations team at Twitter APAC and graduated with a double degree from Singapore Management University. In his free time, he enjoys games of volleyball, ultimate frisbee and poker.

Aitomon is Southeast Asia’s first AI and Chatbot Venture Builder. Aitomon’s mission is to create an ecosystem of companies, products and services that prepares customers for the coming “Singularity era”. Mr. Lim

Leon is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Aitomon, an AI and Chatbot Venture Builder. Their latest products is Ask Sora, a Facebook messenger bot named Sora that helps users make easier decisions. Users send 2 pictures and get crowdsourced comparison votes on them within 5 minutes.

He is also the Co-Founder and Chairman of Puffin Builder, an Internet Venture Builder; and Co-Founder and Investor in KakiBuilder, a Technology Reseller and Technology Events Company. Leon has been interviewed for his views on Bots and Entrepreneurship on various media including Inc. Magazine,  MediaCorp, Singapore Press Holdings, The Straits Times News, Suria Channel, Channel News Asia & 938Live Radio. He holds a BBA from National University of Singapore.

Cinnamon AI Labs Company

Cinnamon AI Labs is the consultancy and artificial intelligence solution development company. They have the operation in Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam and Japan. He has the great ambition to bring Vietnamese solutions to the world, offered by world-class young talents. The Intelligence training program founded by Erik has brought huge opportunity for junior researchers and developers to learn about how to create innovative AI techonology and bring it into marketable products

Botimize Company

YuHsuan is co-founder and CEO of botimize, a Taiwan and Singapore-based conversational analytics ML startup. Botimize.io is part of the first cohort of Zeroth.AI, an AI/ML focused accelerator. They are also initiator and cohost of bot meetups in Taipei, Singapore, Bangalore, and Bot Hackathon in HongKong.
